Hair Hair and More Hair

Come to the collusion last week, that 90% of my morning routine revolves around having the prefect looking hair. So figure seeing as I care so much about my hair it was probably time to make the dreaded trip to the hairdressers for a trim and when I say trim I mean as least as possible, none if I had my way.

Realised that over the past few years that my hair has got drastically short due to straightening it 7 days a week 365 days a year, but for some reason could still never give up straightening.

Got to the hairdressers and got take straight to the sink to get it wash, she then told me that as it’s so curly she would need to blow dry and straighten first before she trimmed it.

Comes to trimming it and she’s turns to me and says has someone set the ends of your hair on fire as this is some of the worst hair I’ve ever seen and if you want to keep your hair the only way to fix this is to not straightening or blow dry for a while and use a repair shampoo, condition and treatment to help it grow back and come for a trim every 6 weeks.

So figured it was time to sent my self a challenge and not blow dry/straighten my hair for 6 weeks, 6 whole weeks, don’t know how I survive but I’d rather have hair than go bold so it must be done.

The hairdressers did recommend that I buy this special L’oreal shampoo/condition that you can only buy from the hair shop, but it was $60 and would be looking if it last me a month.

As you may or may not know I have tried different brands in previous posts like Redken which is quite expensive and Lee Stafford which is quite reasonably priced but only comes in small bottles so you have to keep buying it more often. So decided to try the opposite end of the scale and just go with a Supermarket L’oreal shampoo, condition and treatment. Don’t know if it will be any good apart from the price, but figured my hairs already badly damaged so whats the worst it can do.

Will do an update in 6 weeks time and let you know if the Supermarket products work or not and if my hair has improved in any way.

One of the reason’s I hate getting my hair cut is because hair dresser’s tend to be a bit over dramatic. they always say my hair needs to be trimmed every 6 weeks, and that i have split ends! Like it’s a real medical condition or something. Haha. 🙂

I hope your hair gets back to the condition you want it to be!! <3

A lot of my morning routine consists of playing around with my hair, as well.. although that can be put down on my part for being so fussy! I’m sorry about the effect straightening has had on your hair and I genuinely hope that you can improve the condition sometime very soon! Good luck with these products! 🙂

That sucks about your hair! I had a similar experience but with dying my hair. I was dying it to the point of literally killing it and I had to chop off so much of my hair 🙁 It’s hard to get out of damaging hair habits but it’s totally worth it in the end. Have you tried using DIY hair masks? They’re my favourite way of looking after my hair and much more affordable than buying one.

I am so excited to see your verdict on whether or not you approve of this product! Supermarket products are sometimes better than the ‘real deal’!
